When you bought a watch for severl years, your watch might stop. Hey, Your watch may need to be washed oil.
There are are all kinds of stories. Some say two years. Some say five years. Some other also say that it is no problem as long as the watch can always go and do not need to wash oil. I consider specific issues with specific analysis. At first, the watch will be wear and tear during use. It is sure it will appear wear and tear. And the watch oil will dry, so the increasing wear and tear will make the watch gear transmission blocked. It will immediately affect the accuracy of travel time and function normally.
Then how long does a watch need to wash the oil? It has the following factors:
1, watch sealing problems
As long as the seal of the watch case is tight, there would be no gas, no water vapor, no dust, no fibers and so on. Therefore, the watch oil would be non-perishable and volatile. The movement is not easy to rust. It is not easy to appear tiny impurities between the gear and parts. The movement would maintain the relatively “clean.”
2, The degree wear and tear of the watch
If you are always with the same watches every day, then in frequent use, the mechanical wear will be big. On the other hand, if the watch is basically shelved without use, then there will be a small degree of mechanical wear and tear. I had a lot of watches, all set aside with no more than 15 years. If take some out and test, its performance is still qualified. Swing is quite high.The function is also good.
3, Quartz watches can be extended the cycle of washing the oil.
Why? That is because quartz watches wear is extremely small, and it is not automatic without winding needle, and the transmission torque is also small. The watch will be reflected immediately (such as stop and go or stop-go) when fault comes out, so you needn’t wash when there is no trouble.
4, Wash oil cycle of Mens wathch much longer than female watch
“Sludge” relatively impact large size of the mechanical watch than the small size watch, so the female form of thin watch has short period of wash oil cycle. And some watches even have cleaned at least once within two years.
