A Close Look At Refrigerators
In the world of refrigerator manufactures many brand names come and go quite often. In fact, there are many companies that become part of other manufactures even though the brand name might live on. However, that brand name product might not be the same as you once remember it it. This is especially true with Maytag Refrigerator. The company of Maytag had its beginnings in 1893 and was a leading producer of fine quality washing machines. It was in the year of 1946 that this company began making its first line of refrigerators and in 1989 it made its line of refrigerators to match the other appliances that they made.
While Maytag Refrigerator Parts were popular their popularity never quite reached the height of their washing machines designed for home use but, it was not because the company did not take a lead in innovations in the refrigerator industry. Maytag was one of the first companies to come out with a French door design as well as a cabinet depth refrigerator and external ice and water features, all features which are sought after in refrigerators today.
The year of 2007 was a fateful year for the Maytag company since the Whirlpool Corporation bought them out and made some significant changes There were numbers of Maytag factories being closed and now the Maytag name appears on Whirlpool brand appliances. The Whirlpool company has do this to a number of other brand names as well.
The Maytag production line comes with many different price ranges, shapes, styles, sizes, and functions. You can find some styles with french doors, side by side, and some that have bottom or top freezers. Many of these refrigerators also have spill catchers to make cleaning easy and gliding shelves.
Ironically, many consumers who don’t know or realize that Maytag Refrigerators are now being made by the Whirlpool corporation often compare refrigerators bearing the two brand names. In such comparisons it is often easy to tell which consumers have purchased Maytag brand products and which Whirlpool products in the past and where their loyalties lie.
Most of the time, one company will buy out another so that they can sell higher and lower end models of the exact same product to get a larger portion of the market and will make one brand superior to the other. However, this does not seem to be how it is with the Whirlpool corporation purchasing the Maytag company. Both brand name products are very comparable as far as quality goes.
The truth of the matter is that most brand names will stand out in a consumers mind over many others. A lot of the time, consumers will go back and purchase products that they have tried and believe to be reliable since they have used them in past such as Maytag Refrigerator parts. This is even true when the company is sold out to another. Human beings are creatures of habit and are not fond of accepting change to fast. Keeping the original product name after a company has bought that company out is very good for business.
