Advantages of Solar Energy – Conserve Electricity and Go Green. by Nicholas Lyons
If you’re like most Americans these days you’re probably intrigued by the idea of powering your entire house using solar energy. Well its realistic, and can be easily done using the appropriate solar panel plans. After doing some investigation, I found that building them your self is cheaper, and easier then I ever imagined. If you’re still on the fence about going green here is some of the advantages of using solar energy
Free Power.
Pretty straight forward but its true, the sun is free and doesn’t charge per kilowatt-hour. After the initial investment of either paying for someone to do it, or doing what I did and build them for close to nothing, you can fully enjoy the benefits of seeing an electric bill with nothing on it. If you’re ambitious with solar panels, you can even have the electricity company pay you for your excess power.
Going Green.
Do to the fact that Solar panels do not emit any sort of chemical waste you can safely say that you are doing your part in helping the world be a cleaner place to live in. Most people don’t even know how their electricity is made. Most of the time electricity is being produced by nuclear power. With installing solar panels, you are buying the services/products from small companies, rather then support big energy companies like BP that take the chance in hurting the world again. If more homes are using solar power, more companies will invest back in the technology to make them cheaper, and more efficient.
Practically No Maintenance.
Just because it’s new technology doesn’t mean its rocket science. Solar energy is easy to build and very simple to maintain. The majority of the maintenance of my solar panels consists of me cleaning them every once and awhile like I would my gutters. Also, there aren’t any parts that need to be replaced over time, like a gas engine would. Once the solar panels are up and working, they will last you a long time.
